Services

  • I offer in-home postpartum care in Santa Barbara and surrounding areas, and I’m currently accepting new clients for Spring and Summer 2024! See my Services and Packages for details.

  • I offer in-person and virtual prenatal support sessions, helping you prepare your home, heart and mind for a beautiful and positive postpartum experience. See my Services and Packages for more information.

I’m a nurturing and knowledgable postpartum professional.

I come to postpartum care with a background in professional nannying, with a special emphasis on supporting families through the first two years of baby’s life.

In 2023, I completed the Postpartum Care & Education Professional Training through Newborn Mothers, taught by postpartum thought leader Julia Jones.

I understand that new parents undergo significant shifts in their identities, priorities, relationships and emotions during this time. My role as your doula is to help you process and honor this sacred transition, and to empower you to embrace parenthood with confidence and authenticity. I believe that nourishment, love and acknowledgement throughout your postpartum journey can benefit your lifelong health and wellbeing.

Through postpartum planning, in-home care, and village-building, together we can create the soft landing you deserve as you settle into this new phase of life, with all its messiness and all its miracles!

I’d be honored to join your village.

FAQs

  • A postpartum doula is a trained professional who offers non-medical practical and emotional support to new mothers during the transformative period following childbirth. While postpartum doulas tend to be baby-whisperers, a doula’s primary focus is on the new mom, ensuring that she has nutritious meals, opportunities to talk about her experience, and the non-judgmental female companionship that is so vital during this time. For most of human history, this support was built in to a woman’s community. Postpartum doulas are rebuilding this aspect of community care to make sure no woman goes through this sacred time alone or unsupported.

  • While a supportive partner is invaluable, your partner is experiencing their own transformation! And will usually be sharing in your fatigue and overwhelm as you both adjust. A postpartum doula supports both parents by listening, providing resources, and taking housekeeping and food prepping tasks off your plate so that you can both bond with baby, rest and ease into your new family dynamic. A postpartum doula can also be a great comfort and help to a new mom when it comes time for their partner to return to work.

  • In addition to my experience as a professional nanny, I completed the Newborn Mothers Postpartum Care and Education Professional Training, a comprehensive program which included in-depth instruction on all the key aspects of the postpartum experience including:

    - The physiological changes that happen in a woman’s body and brain after giving birth

    - The role of nutritious food in supporting postpartum healing

    - Traditional postpartum care across cultures

    - Basic breastfeeding support and recognizing when additional support is needed

    - Postpartum mental health and recognizing when further support is needed

    - Biologically normal infant sleep and optimizing parent sleep during the newborn stage

    - Village-building and helping parents create their own support network

I am also certified in Adult/Infant CPR/First Aid and have my CA food handler’s license.
